Aichi-Nagoya, Sept. 26 -- Indian sprinter Animesh Kujur advanced to the men's 200m semifinals at the Asian Games 2026 after winning his heat on Saturday.

Kujur clocked 21.10 seconds to finish first in his heat and secure his place in the semifinal round.

The Indian athlete produced a strong performance in the heats to comfortably progress to the next stage of the competition.

Kujur is among India's key sprinting hopes at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games and will look to continue his run in the semifinals as he aims for a place in the medal race.

Meanwhile, India's Sawan Barwal scripted history by winning the silver medal in the men's marathon with a national record time of 2:11:37.
