Washington, April 27 -- Actor Anne Hathaway has made it clear that her future remains firmly rooted in acting, despite stepping into the shoes of a global music icon in her latest film 'Mother Mary.'

At a special screening of the psychological thriller at Metrograph in New York City on April 13, the Oscar-winning actor said she has no intention of trading acting accolades for chart success.

"I can't see that happening," Hathaway told People magazine when asked about a possible pop star career.

Hathaway plays a global music sensation attempting a comeback tour in 'Mother Mary', where she stars opposite Michaela Coel.
