Patna, Aug. 20 -- Union Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Thursday said agriculture in Bihar was on the path of progress and highlighted the government's efforts to promote low-cost, high-profit farming methods and integrated farming models for farmers with small landholdings.

Speaking to reporters after attending the state-level program of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin in Patna, Chouhan said he was pleased with the discussions held with progressive farmers on various aspects of agriculture, including the cultivation of fruits, flowers and vegetables.

He said progressive farmers discussed farming methods that could reduce input costs while increasing returns.
