5 Bangladeshis killed in Kolkata fire, says Bangladesh Deputy High Commission
Dhaka, Aug. 19 -- A fire broke out at a hotel in Kolkata, West Bengal, India, early this morning, resulting in the loss of life of five Bangladeshi nationals, among the nine killed in the incident.
Upon receiving the news, officials from the Bangladesh Deputy High Commission in Kolkata immediately arrived at the scene to gather information about the deceased and the injured.
"According to local authorities, a total of nine people have died in the fire so far. Local police have confirmed the identities of five Bangladeshi nationals among the deceased", the Bangladesh Deputy High Commission in Kolkata said in a statement.
