Shimla, Sept. 1 -- A total of 2,035 government institutions were denotified in Himachal Pradesh up to July 31, 2025, while 362 new institutions have been opened since the Congress government came to power, Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said in the Assembly on Tuesday.

Sukhu was responding to questions raised by BJP legislators, including Leader of Opposition and former Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur, during Question Hour on the eighth day of the 10-day Monsoon Session of the Himachal Pradesh Assembly.

The Chief Minister informed the House that 123 of the denotified institutions have subsequently been reopened at their original locations.
