13 years after Jhiram Ghati naxal attack, NIA Court to deliver verdict today
Jagdalpur, Sept. 5 -- Thirteen years after the 2013 Jhiram Ghati Naxal attack that claimed at least 29 lives, including several Congress leaders, the NIA Special Court in Jagdalpur is set to deliver its verdict on Saturday, bringing to a close a long legal process that has remained politically significant in Chhattisgarh.
The Naxalite attack took place in Jhiram Valley, Bastar, on May 25, 2013, when armed Maoists ambushed a convoy of Congress leaders returning from a "Parivartan Yatra" ahead of the 2013 Assembly Elections.
