Nuwakot, Aug. 31 -- More than 150 volunteers from Likhu Rural Municipality in Nepal's Nuwakot district on Monday headed to Devighat to undertake extensive rescue and cleanup operations following the recent flash floods in the country.

The volunteers were accompanied by tipper trucks and two JCB machines as part of efforts to clear debris and assist people affected by the floods.

Speaking to ANI, Likhu Rural Municipality Mayor Dhruba Shrestha said the team would remain in Devighat for the next two days and would return only after clearing the debris and addressing the situation on the ground. He added that the municipality would provide all possible assistance to people affected by the flash floods.
