Mumbai, Dec. 18 -- Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Thursday slammed Union Minister Giriraj Singh for defending Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar over the hijab row, stating that such behaviour is only expected from the BJP leaders.

Speaking to reporters in Mumbai, CM Abdullah said that the BJP would have led an uproar if the situation were reversed and a Muslim leader had removed the veil of a Hindu woman.

"This is exactly what we can expect from the BJP. If it had been a Hindu woman from Rajasthan or Haryana, wearing a veil, and I had removed it, would the BJP have said the same thing?
