New Delhi, Oct. 9 -- Palestinian Ambassador to India Abdullah Abu Shawesh on Thursday welcomed US President Donald Trump's announcement of the "first phase" of the Gaza Peace Plan, saying Palestinians were prepared to support any initiative that ends the ongoing conflict.

Speaking in New Delhi, Shawesh said, "Palestinians have a crystal clear position that we want to endorse any effort that will end the bloodshed and Israeli war in Gaza, and our families will go to sleep with full stomachs. We are looking at this positively."

His remarks came after US President Donald Trump announced that Israel and Hamas have "signed off on the first Phase of our Peace Plan."
