New Delhi, Aug. 11 -- The Ministry of External Affairs on Tuesday said that India was formally notified of the arrest of Indian national Varun Batchigari in Germany regarding the alleged first-degree murder of his girlfriend committed in Arizona and that it remains in touch with US authorities regarding the developing case

Responding to a query at the biweekly media briefing, MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said that the ministry was informed that Batchigari was apprehended in Germany after allegedly committing the serious crime in Arizona.
