Lakhimpur, March 16 -- Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) chief Gaurav Gogoi held an election campaign in Lakhimpur on Monday, and emphasised that "new Congress will give birth to new Assam" in the coming time.

Speaking to ANI, Gogoi stated that the party has given a chance to new people in its candidate list for the upcoming state polls, adding that a new Congress is being witnessed in Assam.

"We are witnessing a new Congress in a new Assam. There are new faces on the Congress's list. This new Congress will give birth to a new Assam in the coming days," Gogoi said.

Elections in Assam for all 126 Assembly constituencies will be held in a single phase on April 9, while the counting of votes is scheduled for May 4, the Election Comm...
