New Delhi, Aug. 18 -- Ministry of External Affairs Spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said on Tuesday that India continues to engage with Venezuela to strengthen its national energy security.

Addressing reports regarding state-run Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) securing a US Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) license to resume full operations in Venezuela, Jaiswal underscored New Delhi's broader focus on energy diversification.

"On the question of ONGC, I don't know exactly what the position is. But on sourcing oil from Venezuela, I told you that we are engaging with Venezuela to strengthen our energy security," Jaiswal said during a press briefing.
