Mainpuri, Oct. 11 -- Samajwadi Party MP Dimple Yadav on Saturday strongly condemned the alleged gangrape of a medical student within a hospital premise in Durgapur, West Bengal, terming it a horrific incident that reflects the alarming rise in crimes against women across the country.

She further criticised the Uttar Pradesh government for its failure to ensure women's safety, noting that heinous crimes against women in the state have more than doubled in the past decade.

Dimple Yadav further accused the Yogi-led government of neglecting its responsibility to guide society and undermining initiatives like the SP's 1090 helpline, which provided crucial support to women.
