New Delhi, July 30 -- BJP MP Nishikant Dubey on Wednesday raised concerns about the declining tribal population in Jharkhand's Santhal Pargana region in Lok Sabha, attributing it to rampant infiltration by Bangladeshis.
According to Dubey, the tribal population in the region has dropped significantly, from 45% in 1951 to 27% in 2011, and is expected to further decline to around 21-22% in the upcoming census.
He said, "For the past 10 years or more, I have been consistently raising this issue--that in our region, Santhal Pargana, while everyone talks about SCs, STs, and OBCs, the reality is starkly different.
