Saharanpur, Oct. 13 -- Congress MP Imran Masood on Tuesday mounted a fierce defence of Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi, saying that the ongoing agitations against the Chief Election Commissioner, Gyanesh Kumar and the Election Commission of India (ECI) are a "storm" driven by the public outrage.

"This is a Rahul Gandhi storm; they will be blown away, and yesterday's protest demonstrated the extent of public outrage," he said.

Masood dismissed the defects in the writ petition filed by Rahul Gandhi, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, and nine other INDIA bloc leaders against the ECI's decisions in the Supreme Court.
