New Delhi, Oct. 7 -- Former Kerala High Court judge Justice PN Ravindran on Wednesday defended the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise, saying it was aimed at ensuring clean and valid electoral rolls and had been conducted several times in the past.

Speaking on the SIR exercise, Justice Ravindran said the ongoing revision is the ninth such exercise and noted that it had also been carried out when the Congress was in power.
