Chandigarh, Sept. 28 -- Congress leader Pawan Kumar Bansal on Monday said students at Lovely Professional University (LPU) became agitated due to alleged police inaction, and called for the administration, government and police to handle the situation with sensitivity amid protests on the campus.

Speaking to ANI, he said, "This is a serious matter... In this particular incident, the police bear significant responsibility. If an incident occurs and a complaint is filed, the police should act immediately. The students became agitated because the police failed to take action."

He said the authorities needed to address the concerns of students and ensure that the situation was handled carefully.
