Lucknow, Oct. 3 -- Samajwadi Party (SP) president Akhilesh Yadav issued a gag order to party leaders on Saturday, directing them to keep their opinions on seat-sharing negotiations and the Congress strictly within internal party channels.

The intervention comes amid public friction ahead of formal talks between the two INDIA bloc allies for the upcoming 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections.

Addressing reporters at an event in Lucknow, Akhilesh Yadav stepped in to de-escalate public squabbling following sharp remarks from his own party MP, Shiv Pal Singh Patel.

"I would like to tell all our leaders that whatever opinions or concerns they have regarding seat-sharing should be shared with us," said Akhilesh Yadav.
