Kolkata, May 30 -- Former West Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress (TMC) chairperson Mamata Banerjee on Saturday launched a scathing attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), accusing the party of turning "killers" following an alleged attack on TMC National General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee.

Taking to X, the Chief Minister expressed her outrage, stating, "RULERS BECAME KILLERS- shame on you BJP."

Earlier, the Trinamool Congress on Saturday alleged that party leader Abhishek Banerjee was "lynched and attacked by a few BJP supporters" while he had gone to meet the family of "a person murdered by BJP" with the TMC general secretary also alleging an attempt "to kill" him.
