"Really happy for Bhuvneshwar": Madan Lal welcomes pacer's recall to Indian team
New Delhi, Oct. 8 -- Former Indian cricketer Madan Lal welcomed pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar's return to the Team India setup, crediting his strong Indian Premier League (IPL) performances and ability to generate movement with the ball, which he said makes the pacer effective and capable of taking wickets in T20 cricket.
Bhuvneshwar's India career had been on hold since the 2022 T20 World Cup semi-final against England in Adelaide. Nearly four years later, the 36-year-old has earned a long-awaited recall to the national side for the five T20Is against New Zealand starting from October 22 onwards.
Bhuvneshwar has played 229 matches across formats, claiming 294 wickets at an impressive average of 29.50, including seven five-wicket hauls.
