New Delhi, Aug. 16 -- Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Praveen Khandelwal on Saturday accused Congress leader Rahul Gandhi of "misleading the people of India" with his allegations against the Election Commission of India (ECI).

Khandelwal said that the ECI acted within its powers and the Supreme Court had already upheld this authority.

The BJP leader stressed that the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha's remarks were politically motivated and had no legal basis.

Speaking to ANI, Khandelwal said, "...What the Election Commission did was within its jurisdiction. The Supreme Court has clarified this not once but twice. Rahul Gandhi is engaged in misleading not only Bihar but the entire country on this issue for his own political gains.....
