Mumbai, Sept. 16 -- Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Tuesday launched a sharp attack on the Congress party, accusing it of insulting Prime Minister Narendra Modi's late mother and undermining the sentiments of the nation.

Intensifying his criticism, Shinde alleged that the Congress party was synonymous with corruption and kept a policy of "corruption first".

Speaking to reporters, Shinde said, "...By disrespecting the late mother of PM Modi, they are disrespecting all the mothers of the nation. The nation will not accept the mothers being disrespected...The public will teach a lesson to Congress, which disrespected the late mother of PM Modi...
