Sydney, Sept. 1 -- Australia chair of selectors George Bailey highlighted the importance of the upcoming tours of South Africa and Zimbabwe, stating that it will be crucial in their preparations for the 2027 ODI World Cup

With the tournament around 12-14 months away, Bailey said Australia have limited opportunities to fine-tune their squad and identify the right players for the conditions.

The 2027 Men's ODI World Cup, to be co-hosted by South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia, is provisionally scheduled to take place from October 4 to November 21.

Bailey felt that despite the retirements of Steve Smith, Glenn Maxwell and Marcus Stoinis from the 50-over format, Australia still have players capable of filling the roles those experienced camp...
