New Delhi, Aug. 5 -- Union Minister Jayant Chaudhary on Tuesday paid tribute to former Jammu and Kashmir Governor Satyapal Malik, who passed away at 79.

Speaking to reporters, the Union Minister said, "His journey began with student politics. As a social activist, he also worked with Chaudhary Charan Singh and Chaudhary Ajit Singh. I offer my tributes to him. The people of the country, especially the youth, should learn from his life. I have shared the stage with him several times," Chaudhary said.

Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed grief over the passing of former Governor Satyapal Malik and prayed for the peace of the departed soul.
