Kolkata, July 8 -- Asserting that no criminal or rapist will be spared under the current administration, West Bengal BJP State President and Rajya Sabha MP Shamik Bhattacharya on Wednesday backed the police action in the Baruipur encounter, stating that the government has fulfilled its electoral promise of "Fear out, Trust in" (Bhoy out, Bhorosa in).

The remarks follow the encounter of Prabhash Mondal, a prime accused in the Baruipur minor's rape and murder case, who was killed in a police shootout after attempting to snatch an officer's weapon and open fire at the police team.
