New Delhi, Aug. 13 -- As India achieves 100 GW (gigawatt) Solar PV (Photovoltaic) Module Manufacturing Capacity, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday lauded the efforts towards popularising clean energy and labelled it as a milestone towards self-reliance.

"This is yet another milestone towards self-reliance! It depicts the success of India's manufacturing capabilities and our efforts towards popularising clean energy," PM Modi posted on X.

According to an official statement from the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, India has achieved a landmark milestone of 100 GW of solar PV module manufacturing capacity enlisted under the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM) for Solar PV Modules.
