New Delhi, Sept. 7 -- Senior Congress leader Jairam Ramesh on Monday questioned the delay in prorogation of Parliament, alleging that the government has kept the 2026 Monsoon Session "on a ventilator" while seeking a two-thirds majority in the Lok Sabha to pass the Delimitation Bills.

The Monsoon Session of Parliament, which began on July 20, was adjourned sine die on August 13, after 19 sittings.

Congress leader said Parliament is normally prorogued three to four days after being adjourned sine die, but noted that the gap was 28 days during the 2015 Monsoon Session.
