New Delhi, Aug. 3 -- Senior former diplomat Surendra Kumar on Monday criticised the rapidly shifting military and diplomatic stances between the United States and Iran, remarking that the lack of predictability in decisions carrying global consequences has made the ongoing West Asia crisis "like a comedy."

Speaking to ANI, Kumar emphasised that while any shift that lowers regional hostilities and leads to the reopening of the vital Strait of Hormuz should be welcomed, both Washington and Tehran are caught in a complex struggle to end the conflict without losing face domestically.
