New Delhi, Sept. 2 -- Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment Ramdas Athawale strongly condemned derogatory remarks made against Prime Minister Narendra Modi's late mother, saying "it was an insult to every mother in the country."

"PM Modi said it was an insult to every mother in the country...The people of Bihar will teach a lesson to those who hurled abuses at PM Modi's mother...," Athawale told ANI on Tuesday.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, speaking at an event in Bihar, responded to the derogatory remarks made against him and his late mother, saying that these 'naamdaar' people were born with a silver spoon in their mouths.
