Los Angeles, Aug. 24 -- Oscar-nominated filmmaker Ridley Scott has described himself as an "influencer" rather than a filmmaker, saying he has often been ahead of the curve with his work, according to Variety.

"Every time, you are vulnerable," said Scott when asked about a common thread in his films. "Also, I never want to repeat myself, and all my films have been on the money. I've been ahead of the game frequently and, if you're ahead of the game, you're an influencer. So I'm not a filmmaker, I'm an influencer."

Scott, a three-time Oscar-nominated director, has directed acclaimed films including 'Blade Runner', 'Alien', 'Thelma & Louise' and 'Gladiator', establishing a major influence on Hollywood over his career, according to Variety...
