Hyderabad, July 16 -- Amid the rising tensions over the water issue between Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, the Chief Ministers of the two neighbouring states are set to meet Union Jal Shakti Minister CR Patil in Delhi on Wednesday.

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader N Ramchander Rao said that it was a good move by the centre since it would help resolve the water issue amicably.

The meeting, scheduled for 2.30 pm, holds significance against the backdrop of renewed tensions between the two states over water sharing, particularly following Andhra Pradesh's announcement of the Polavaram-Banakacherla project..
