Chandigarh, Sept. 14 -- Hockey India secretary general Bhola Nath Singh expressed happiness at Punjab hosting the Hockey Asian Champions Trophy this year in October, saying that the tournament is going to fulfill dreams of stalwarts like Harmanpreet Singh and Manpreet Singh among several players to play international hockey in front of their fans in their home state of Punjab.

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann made a historic announcement that the state will be hosting its first-ever major hockey tournament, with Team India defending their titles against top Asian sides in Hockey Asian Champions Trophy from October 27 onwards, with arch-rivals Pakistan set to travel to India for the tournament as well.
