New Delhi, Sept. 8 -- BJP MP Tarun Chugh on Tuesday launched a sharp attack on the Aam Aadmi Party government in Punjab, accusing it of promoting gang culture, mafia and extortion.

Addressing a press conference in the national capital, Chugh said, "In Punjab, the Bhagwant Mann government, acting at the behest of Arvind Kejriwal, has been continuously promoting gang culture, the mafia, and a culture of extortion across the state."

"They are being institutionalized, institutionalising criminal activities, mafias, and gangsters, because of which the entire state of Punjab is living in an atmosphere of fear today. For the first time in Punjab, after the formation of this government, organised extortion has started," he alleged.
