Guwahati, Sept. 17 -- Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Thursday said prayers were offered for Prime Minister Narendra Modi's well-being on his birthday and announced a month-long program to mark his 25 years of public service.

Speaking to reporters, CM Sarma said, "Today, accompanied by our state president and MLA, we prayed for the well-being of the Prime Minister. This evening, households across Assam will light earthen lamps. Every home will be illuminated by these lamps, and prayers will be offered in temples...
