New Delhi, Aug. 3 -- President Droupadi Murmu on Monday praised India's contingent for their superb performance at the Commonwealth Games 2026 in Glasgow, highlighting the contribution of women athletes who won eight of the country's 13 gold medals.

In a post shared by Rashtrapati Bhavan on X, the President expressed happiness over India's performance and congratulated all 39 medal winners and members of the contingent.

"I am delighted that India's sportspersons have put up excellent performance at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games. I am especially happy to note that women have brought us 8 out of the 13 gold medals won by India," President Murmu said.
