Jagdalpur, May 22 -- Inspector General of Police (Bastar Range) Sundarraj P on Friday said that the Bastar Region and the entire nation are officially free from armed Naxal activities following a total halt in insurgent violence since March 2026.

According to the IG, the security forces will pivot toward the massive logistical challenges of consolidating peace, locating and safely defusing landmines across the terrain, and aggressively accelerating local development projects.
