New Delhi, Sept. 10 -- As massive protests brought down the Nepal government, senior Congress leader Manish Tewari on Wednesday claimed that an orchestrated attempt was being made to "destabilise" the South Asian region and bring about regime change.

"What happened to Sheikh Hasina in Bangladesh & KP Sharma Oli in Nepal is not coincidental. Triggers may be domestic but an orchestrated attempt is being made to destabilise the South Asian region & bring about regime change," Tewari, the Lok Sabha MP, posted on social media platform X.

He also cautioned that such destabilisation attempts "will happen elsewhere also".
