Jakarta, Aug. 15 -- Indonesia's Agriculture Minister Andi Amran Sulaiman has said young farmers are central to achieving national food self-sufficiency and driving the downstream development of the agriculture sector.
"To achieve this, the role of young farmers is crucial," Sulaiman told a gathering of Millennial Farmer Champions in Jakarta on Thursday.
During the meeting, Sulaiman held an open dialogue with young farmers from across the country, encouraging them to share their experiences and business achievements.
He highlighted agriculture as Indonesia's comparative advantage and a key driver of national transformation.
"What can change this republic is the agricultural sector," he said.
