Jakarta, Dec. 9 -- Indonesia is rolling out a wide range of transport fare discounts over the year-end holiday period in an effort to ease travel costs for millions of passengers, officials said Monday.
A 30 percent rail fare discount will apply from December 22 to January 10, targeting 1.509 million passengers, according to the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto.
The government expects the measure to help manage peak-season crowding while ensuring affordability for long-distance and regional routes during one of the busiest travel periods of the year.
