Jakarta, Sept. 17 -- State-owned construction company PT Waskita Karya (Persero) said Jakarta's light-rail transit, particularly the Velodrome-Manggarai route, is safe for tens of thousands of passengers after undergoing comprehensive testing.

"User and worker safety is our top priority. We continue coordinating with project owner Jakpro to address various situations," Waskita Operations II Director Paulus Budi Kartiko said here Thursday.

Field teams installed safety nets around the balance-girder segments and conducted daily monitoring surveys and chamber inspections, Paulus said.
