Jakarta, June 16 -- Indonesian Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka has urged students and teachers in Indonesia to master artificial intelligence (AI) to navigate the massive digital transformation.

"We can no longer close our eyes or simply be onlookers. We must be the players; we must master this technology," Gibran said in a video posted on his official Instagram account on Tuesday.

He emphasized to students that AI must be viewed as a tool to fast-track learning, not as a shortcut that feeds laziness.

The vice president likened the technology to a personal assistant that simplifies data collection, language acquisition, and complex mathematical formulas.
