VP Gibran visits quake-hit East Nusa Tenggara to oversee recovery
Jakarta, Aug. 20 -- Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka traveled to East Nusa Tenggara Province on Thursday with University of Indonesia psychology students to oversee disaster response and recovery efforts.
During the visit, Gibran invited students to help provide trauma recovery support for disaster victims in affected areas.
Gibran said young people's enthusiasm and concern should be supported and channeled into concrete actions benefiting disaster-affected communities, according to a statement received here Thursday.
He said student involvement was an important expression of the spirit of mutual cooperation in responding to disasters.
