Tangerang, Oct. 8 -- Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka urged animal feed factories in Banten Province to help optimize the absorption of local corn farmers' yields as offtakers.

"Banten has a huge number of factories, including those producing animal feed. This region is also home to many self-reliant ranchers. In other words, there already exists an industry that absorbs locally cultivated corn," he remarked in Tangerang, Banten, on Wednesday.

Despite the well-established agricultural supply chain ecosystem, Gibran still considers it crucial for the government to take steps to further boost the absorption rate of local harvests.
