Jakarta, May 6 -- Indonesian Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka received a visit from the leadership council of an Islamic boarding school (pesantren) to strengthen synergy between the government and the religious community.
He held a meeting with representatives from Bahrul Ulum Pesantren based in Tambakberas within the Jombang district of East Java at the Vice Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Wednesday.
The forum served as strategic momentum for the government to encourage a stronger role for religious schools in national development in line with directives from President Prabowo Subianto.
