Jakarta, Nov. 4 -- Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka has urged faster development in Papua following the creation of two new agencies tasked with accelerating growth in Indonesia's easternmost region.

The two institutions - the Papua Special Autonomy Development Acceleration Agency (BP3OKP) and the Papua Special Autonomy Development Acceleration Executive Committee - are designed to complement each other in driving Papua's progress, he said during a visit to Manokwari, West Papua, on Tuesday.

"Now there are two agencies. I ask that development moves twice as fast, innovation in policymaking doubles, and the benefits for the people double," Gibran said.
