Undip student develops AI system to monitor worker safety
Semarang, C Java, Sept. 8 -- A Diponegoro University student has developed an artificial intelligence system to monitor the physical and psychological risks faced by workers in high-risk industries.
Tiaman Gea, a mechanical design engineering student at the university's vocational school, developed the system to address shortcomings in conventional workplace safety monitoring.
His research, which won third place in the HSSE Innovation Challenge, targets workers in high-risk energy sectors, including oil and gas and mining.
"Work fatigue and psychological stress can reduce workers' situational awareness, ultimately increasing the risk of accidents," Tiaman said in Semarang, the capital of Central Java Province, on Tuesday.
