Denpasar, Bali, Sept. 30 -- Ukrainian national Bohdan Lohush was charged with bringing 1,367.70 grams gross of mephedrone, a Category I narcotic, into Bali, prosecutors said at Denpasar District Court on Tuesday.

Prosecutor Ni Made Suasti Ariani said in the indictment that Lohush carried 937 capsules and a package of white powder, which laboratory tests later confirmed contained mephedrone.

The case began when Lohush arrived at I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport on May 21, 2026, after traveling from Warsaw, Poland, via Doha, Qatar.

At around 7:30 p.m., customs officers Hafid Candra Wibowo and Gita Desisona spotted Lohush passing through a checkpoint with suspicious items and contacted the Bali Police Narcotics Directorate.
