Jakarta, Aug. 29 -- Students from the University of Indonesia (UI) and Paramadina University staged a protest in front of the Greater Jakarta Police Headquarters on Friday, in response to the death of an online motor taxi (ojol) driver during a rally the previous day (29/8).
On Thursday, Affan Kurniawan, an ojol driver, died after being run over by a tactical vehicle during a protest against the House of Representatives.
A widely circulated video shows a Mobile Brigade Corps (Brimob) vehicle speeding toward the crowd in an attempt to disperse the mass.
According to ANTARA's observation on site, by 3:00 p.m. (GMT+7), Paramadina University students had already gathered in front of the headquarters, wearing their signature blue jackets.
