Probolinggo, E Java, Aug. 12 -- Indonesia's National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB) aims to extinguish the two remaining hotspots from a wildfire at Mount Bromo in East Java's Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park by Friday.

"Of the previous 34 hotspots, only two remain. We aim to extinguish both by Friday (Aug. 14)," BNPB Chief Suharyanto said Tuesday.

Suharyanto accompanied Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Pratikno to assess the wildfire's impact and response in the national park.

"Three water-bombing aircraft are on standby. Two can later be deployed elsewhere, while one will remain at Bromo until all hotspots are extinguished," he said.
