Denpasar, Bali, March 9 -- The Denpasar District Court sentenced two Australian nationals, Mevlut Coskun (22) and Paea-I-Middlemore Tupou (26), to 16 years imprisonment for the murder of an Australian national.

The verdict for the two defendants was read by Judge Wayan Suarta at the Denpasar District Court, Bali, on Monday.

The judge found the defendants legally and convincingly proven guilty of premeditated murder as stipulated in the Criminal Code and are punishable by violating Article 459 of Law Number 1 of 2023 concerning the Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 20 letter c of Law Number 1 of 2023 concerning the Criminal Code.
